| President | ![]() | Cheri Curtis | Cheri is a native of San Diego. She holds a BA in music therapy from Cal State Long Beach, and a Masters in public health from San Diego State. Cheri sang with the San Diego Chorus of Sweet Adelines International for 8 years, and has served on the Boards of the Cuyamaca Rancho Foundation and the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Interpretive Association. Cheri is an active volunteer at the San Diego County Department of Animal Services and is currently the Administrator for San Diego Orthopaedic Associates Medical Group in Hillcrest. |
| Director of Outreach | ![]() | Marc Mangiantini | Marc began singing with the San Diego Men's Chorus in the fall of 1988, is a past president and served on the joint chorus merger committee throughout 2009. Marc has a BA from the University of California at San Diego and manages the worldwide travel operation for a privately held business software developer. |
| Treasurer | Joe Florence | Joe Florence teaches math at San Diego High School of Media, Visual & Performing Arts and is the faculty advisor for the student chorus. He has a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut, an M.B.A. from Marymount College of Virginia, and an M.Ed. from Wilmington College, Delaware. Joe joined the San Diego Mens Chorus in 2004 and served as a board member during the merger of the two legacy choruses. Joe is happy to return to board service. | |
| Secretary | ![]() | Cassio Cappelossa | Cassio Cappelossa was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil and lived there until 1994 when his job transferred him to the United States. He holds a Bachelors degree from Fundacao Armando Alvares Penteado in Brazil and a Masters in International Business from University of Miami, FL. He has over 20 years of corporate experience and currently works at Hewlett-Packard Co. as a Process Improvement and Quality Strategy Manager. Cassio was the President of HP's PRIDE Employee Resource Group for three years and has already shared his leadership expertise with the chorus as the Chair of our Technology Committee. Cassio joined the Baritone section of SDGMC in September of 2010. |
| Director of Marketing | ![]() | Bob Lehman | Bob has been a sponsor of the Chorus since 1998 and a singing member since 2011 as a baritone. He previously performed with the Chicago Gay Men's Chorus where he was stationed as a Marine Corps. recruiter following his time as an artillery sergeant in the Persian Gulf War. Bob is currently owner of RSF Execare, Inc. and participates in many LGBT social, political and philanthropic organizations. He and his partner have championed marriage equality and were the first male couple to legally wed in California history. |
| Director of Development | ![]() | David Pierce | David began singing with the men's chorus in 1988 and was a member of the chorus’s board of directors in the early 1990s. He has more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit management and fundraising, having worked as director of development and executive director for a number of local nonprofit organizations. David has served as a board member of the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and on the faculty of UCSD's fundraising certification program. He is a published author whose novel, Elf Child, was a finalist for a national Lambda Literary Award. |
| Director of Membership | Joe Gregore | Joe has sung with both legacy choruses of SDGMC (the Gay Men’s Chorus of San Diego (1997-2010) and San Diego Men's Chorus (2000)). With GMCSD, he has held the position of Director of Membership 2006-2008, as well as Production Manager, Choreographer, Section Leader, Section Manager and Advertising Sales Coordinator. Most recently, he was the GALA committee chair that raised over $20,000.00 for financial assistance that sent over 100 delegates to Denver, 30 of them on financial assistance. Joe has previously sung with the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus from 1991-1996 and Denver Gay Men's Chorus in 2006. | |
| Vice President | ![]() | Dan Trujillo | Dan has been a singing member of both San Diego Men’s Chorus and the Gay Men’s Chorus of San Diego, the legacy choruses that merged to form SDGMC. He is actively involved in the community and is a frequent contributor to his local community council. Currently, Dan is the principal of an elementary school in north San Diego County. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands, and a Master’s degree from the University of California, San Diego. Dan is excited to join the board and be part of a dynamic group. |
| Member at Large | Caron Woodward, Esq. | Originally from Maryland, Caron moved to San Diego in 2003. She currently has her own law practice, with a focus on civil litigation, wills and trusts, probate, elder law, and business formation and organization. She is very active in the community, volunteering time to the Domestic Violence Clinic and the HIV/AIDS Legal Services Project through the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program, and acting as a pro bono Mediator for the San Diego Superior Court. Caron has always been involved with music and the arts, and enjoys playing the drums in her spare time. Caron is an avid supporter of marriage equality and civil rights, and is happy to be part of such a dynamic group! |
